What is a spiritual practice 

In general, the best way to get an answer to this question is to gather all your courage and just find the time to carry out any spiritual practice, try it yourself. You should be ready to meet face to face with everything that will manifest itself, and then to come into contact with the most valuable within yourself every day.

If you give the simplest definition of spiritual practice, we can say that these are daily actions that plunge you deeper into your essence, through establishing contact with the spiritual component. Do not be afraid of the word "spiritual." It does not necessarily imply special pillows for meditation, rollers for prayers, collections of mantras, or yoga mats.

Spiritual practice can be performed when cooking, working in the country, running, knitting, playing a musical instrument, drawing, walking, playing sports, or other hobbies. It is not a matter of form, but of the depth and quality of time spent on a particular activity. 

The second word of the phrase "spiritual practice" ("practice") means that you do it daily, again and again, without forcing yourself, but as if you cannot live without it. Sensations can be very different: it can turn out beautifully and convincingly, or painfully and unpleasantly, boringly or routinely, like brushing your teeth. At the center of everything is your inner core, which must be stable.  

The main types of spiritual practices

Whatever exercises you perform, it is essential to understand that this is not something unusual and mystical, but the normal functional states of our body and psyche, which allow us to look inside ourselves and unpack our dormant resources.

  • Meditation

That is a kind of trance state when the brain begins to work in alpha or theta modes. The main task of meditation is to free oneself from swarming thoughts, emotions, various stimuli. That is a concentration on your inner space of conditional silence and peace with the goal of effective transformation.

  • Body-spiritual practices

They are called to strengthen the spirit through the body and exercise. Only a healthy and sturdy body can conduct high vibrations and clean energies, allowing a person to evolve and reach new levels of development.

  • Respiratory and energy practices

Respiratory techniques can also indirectly be attributed to bodily, but they have a special status. Breathing allows you to influence both the body and consciousness actively. A person experiences an unusual sensation that triggers the healing mechanism of even chronic psycho-injuries. Also, breathing exercises perfectly pump our energy system and even control the correct redistribution of energy within the body.

  • Asceticism

Immediately take a note that this is not self-torture, as is sometimes assumed. Any reasonable restriction in anything can already be attributed to austerity. The main thing is the purpose with which you resort to this method of self-improvement. Strengthening the health, endurance, clarity of consciousness, an awakening of energy, and hidden resources are quite achievable with the help of austerities.

  • Affirmations

These are certain statements, positive formulations, which are called upon at a subconscious level, with repeated repetition from day to day, to change the thinking and lifestyle of a person.

  • Prayer

That is a mental or verbal appeal to the Higher Forces. Prayer may be attached to specific religious denominations, or it may not. It depends on the person's worldview. But, in any case, each of us, one way or another, wants to feel support and feel the connection and unity with the Higher, to realize the need of the Soul to be in touch with its own Origin.

  • Rituals and ceremonies

In fact, the essence of rituals and ceremonies is very similar to prayer, only reinforced by specific actions. Undoubtedly, they strengthen the inner message of a person, help to more effectively turn to the Higher Forces, and simply harmonize a person's consciousness in the best way.

  • Visiting places of power on planet Earth

That is an opportunity to connect to the energy of unique places on the planet where there are particular fields of force. Here, a person can increase his vibrations, clear himself of negativity, fill up with new awareness, make a breakthrough in his development.
